If You're Going to San Francisco...

And so the lay-over beings. Landed in San Fran and it appears that the kids did not get much sleep--can you blame them? Luckily our connecting flight is caddy-cornered from the gate we arrived at so the transition will be minimal. Already we've received compliments from the flight attendants and other passengers on how well-behaved our brood is. Ilima no ka oi!

We have about 30 minutes until we board for the flight to D.C. Thanks to a friend who is following the blog, it seems there is going to be a heavy rain storm hitting D.C. upon our arrival so I'm hoping the kids packed warm clothes. We're going to make an investment in umbrellas for the crew if need be. The good news is that Obama delayed his travel to Indonesia so he'll be in the White House when we visit on Saturday. Some notable sources say that the reason for the delay is so he can oversee the passage of the health care bill through the Senate. I think it's because he heard Ewa Beach is making a house call!!

Upon arriving, we are going to pull some Clark Kent/Superman dress change in the Dulles Airport restrooms (READ: students will be able to [SWBAT] cleanse themselves via 'birdbath' method). We then head to the White House, pay Obama a visit and throw a shaka or two, and it's off to the Smithsonian museums. We are setting our sights on the Museum of Natural History and Museum of American History. Next update will be on Saturday afternoon/evening when we arrive at the hotel. From what I've read and pictures I've seen, the hotel looks pret-ty nice. Plus, I'm banking on the kids getting a good night rest after 24 hours of intercontinental travel and city strolling.
